Abstract: The STARS Talk will present a practical experience on building a framework to support the growth of technology maturity level at university of Franche-Comté. The Foundation operates this TRL-growth mission in a close cooperation with academic research groups, and with dedicated human resources employed within the Foundation. Two such research centers have been developed at FC’INNOV, one in the field of Engineering Sciences since 2013 (based on FEMTO-ST research expertise and results), and another one in the field of biotherapies since 2021 (based on RIGHT research expertise and results). Operation and organization of the Foundation will be presented, illustrated by very practical technology achievements.

Laurent LargerAbout the speaker: Laurent Larger is full professor in Physics at university of Franche-Comté. His research interest concerns nonlinear dynamical systems in optoelectronic. During the last 10 years he focused his involvement in academic responsibilities, leading the FEMTO-ST research institute in engineering sciences (750 members, 2016-2023), designing the EIPHI Graduate School project gathering 8 regional research institute in Natural Sciences (2018-2021), and serving as president of the FC’INNOV foundation (dedicated to technology maturity growth issued from public research, 2016-present).

About STARS Talks: This format of knowledge exchange and interaction is organised by our Challenge Lab. Its monthly webinars will discuss different initiatives based on science, knowledge and innovation that can be useful or inspiring for the development of our regions.
