PhD in Economics and Management (2005), Professor of Management at the Polytechnic Institute of Bragança (IPB) – Portugal, since December 1992. She is a researcher and Scientific Coordinator of UNIAG (Applied Management Research Unit, since 2013) and was a researcher at the Research Unit in Business Sciences (NECE-UBI, 2010-2017). She participated in 21 international and national R&D projects (8 as a Responsible Researcher), supervised two PhD theses and several master students (over 150 master theses). She published more than 230 publications (150 with indexing to Scopus/WoS databases) in peer-reviewed journals, book chapters and proceedings, and has several communications at international scientific conferences. Best award scientific paper (10) in Marketing and Strategy, Tourism, Econometric Methods and Regional Analysis. She serves as a member of the Program Board and Organizing Committees for some Scientific Committees of International Conferences and has collaborated as a reviewer with several journals. Her current research interests is in Tourism Research, Importance-Performance Analysis, Management, Artificial Neural Networks, Entrepreneurship, Econometric Modelling, Marketing and Strategic Management, Market Research, Corporate Social Responsibility and Sustainability, Higher Education Quality, Applied Research Methods and Regional and Cross-Border Development.

The Applied Management Research Unit (UNIAG), young R&D Unit created in 2014, comprises 41 researchers from 4 Higher Education Institutions that are located in the North Region of Portugal, namely the Polytechnic Institute of Bragança (IPB), of Cávado and Ave (IPCA), Oporto (IPP) and Viana do Castelo (IPVC). The mission of the UNIAG is to promote and develop applied scientific research, particularly in the areas of tourism, management, regional development, social and business sustainability, entrepreneurship, competitiveness, corporate governance, and information and communication technologies, in transversal and multidisciplinary context, aiming to establish a strong link between theory and practice, as well as to transfer knowledge to society.
