The activity consisted of sharing regional talents and skills.
The “University Alliances: Harnessing Talent and Skills in Europe’s Regions” workshop, part of #EURegionsWeek in Brussels, brought together experts and policymakers to discuss how university alliances can drive regional transformation. Speakers included Tine Delva (European Commission), Karel Haegeman (European Commission’s Joint Research Center), Dr. Bledar Kurti (Albanian University) with panelists Dick Pouwels (Hanze, STARS EU), Anka Mulder (Saxion University of Applied Sciences), Joana Gouveia Loureiro (City of Coimbra), Christian Schütt (German Ministry of Economic Affairs.
This was a joint initiative of STARS EU, EURASHE, UASNL and Hanze. During the workshop, celebrated in Brussels, testimonials from civil society, SMEs and students were shared with the audience. Discussions highlighted the importance of forming strong alliances, increasing student mobility, improving collaboration with regional ecosystems, and advocating for universities to have a defined regional role by law.
