Name of the service: Technological platform for studying ancient and contemporary environments, PEA²t, uFC.
Main responsible: Nadia Crini, research engineer, PEA²t director.
Category of the service: Technological service.
Target group: Academic research, industrial R&D projects.
Scientific refence:
PEA²t (Chrono-environement, uFC) is an infrastructure of equipment and resources designed to respond to all aspects of environmental sciences. Given the inter- and multi-disciplinary nature of the questions raised by environmental issues, this platform offers a complete range of services, from tools for collecting environmental samples of various natures, to analytical equipements for gathering physical, chemical and biological information, to tools for referencing, storing and preserving collected samples, and modeling. It’s a plateform where recognized expertise in research, training, innovation and value enhancement is possible, open to the regional, national and international academic world and to the regional socio-economic community. Located on 3 sites at Besançon (Bouloie, UFR ST and Hauts du Chazals, UFR Santé campuses), and Montbéliard (UFR STGI), PEA²t relies on recognized scientific and/or technological research staff (22 full-time equivalents), and boasts €4 million in equipment, including €2.5 million in high technology equipments. It benefits from regional, national and European resources (e.g., FEDER, ANR) and industrial funding, enabling it to produce data that is valorized by publications of all the researchers using its services. PEA²t is listed on the Sciences Expertises Bourgogne Franche-Comté website (https://sciencesexpertise-bfc.fr/), and is a member of 4 sub-networks of the French geochemical and experimental network (RéGEF) (https://www.regef.fr/): the elemental geochemistry, organic geochemistry, gamma spectrometry and experimental biogeochemistry networks. It is also referenced on the CatOPIDoR portal developed by INIST.
