The world is becoming increasingly connected and technology driven. Organisations are facing a growing set of challenges and opportunities. From artificial intelligence, cyber-security, machine learning, big data and the Internet of Things (IoT), digital transformation is reshaping our society. New technologies are transforming the way organisations operate, compete and innovate on all the aspects of life. Digital transformation is a means of improving accessibility to education or healthcare, it's a solution for fostering innovation in all fields and, of course, digital transformation is directly linked to all the other STARS EU TIGs.

Lines of work

research and training, involving representatives from each of the nine partner universities in the alliance. From collaborative research in any field of computer science to technologies directly connected to or using digital tools, the goal is to disseminate knowledge to society. The main objectives are : 1.- Preparation of BIPs related to fields such as informatics, automation, education, web, and digital technologies. 2.- Exchange of students during their studies or PhD programs, as well as exchanges of staff, teachers, or researchers.3.- Research cooperation focused on digital transformation.4.- Organization of research conferences.5.- Preparation of international research projects (e.g., Erasmus, Horizon) specializing in digital transformation or related to other TIGs.

Collaborative Research

Development of joint projects among the member universities of the alliance to advance new technologies and solutions in any field connected to digital transformation, such as education, production, and healthcare.

Collaboration with industry

Digital transformation strengthens collaboration with industry by enhancing communication through real-time tools and eliminating geographical barriers. Access to big data and analytics supports informed decision-making, aligning academic research with industry needs. Streamlined processes and automation reduce administrative tasks, allowing for a greater focus on innovation. Together, these factors drive progress and help prepare a future-ready workforce.

Knowledge exchange

Digital Transformation enhances collaborative research by enabling seamless communication among researchers from different institutions and geographical locations. Seminars, conferences, and workshops will be organized to facilitate and to promote the exchange of knowledge and experiences among researchers, students, and industry professionals. Digital transformation fosters knowledge exchange by providing real-time communication tools that connect individuals across various locations. Additionally, collaborations to host scientific congresses focused on computer science, digital learning, and other domains related to digital transformation will be explored.

Development of joint educational programs

Digital transformation supports the development of educational programs by providing platforms that enable collaboration among institutions within the STARS EU ALLIANCE. It allows for the integration of divers curricula and resources, creating a rich learning experience for students. Developing study programs and specialized courses in fields related to digital transformation at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels encourages faculty participation and enhances student mobility across the universities within the alliance.
