A sustainable world will require not only new technologies, but smarter ways of using materials and preserving the products we already make. Surface engineering provides a powerful route to achieving this by extending life, enhancing functionality and tailoring component surfaces to mitigate resource overuse or conserve critical raw materials. The talk will showcase this evolving field through accessible examples, utilizing a single process (thermal spraying) as an illustrative versatile case study.
About STARS Talks: This format of knowledge exchange and interaction is organised by our Challenge Lab.
