Lecturers at STARS EU partner universities can obtain a certificate as proof of their teaching qualifications by attending our workshop program. The Curriculum Lab offers you the opportunity to systematically develop and expand your teaching skills at the STARS EU Alliance. Your professional self-understanding and continuous education are important contributions to the quality development and assurance of studies and teaching at STARS EU. You can exchange ideas, network with other lecturers across faculties, study programmes, as well as universities, and document your commitment to further education with the STARS EU Certificate in International Teaching in our higher education and media didactics workshops and (media) didactic events. The scope and structure of the certificate are based on the guidelines and quality standards of the German Society for Higher Education Didactics (dghd). ParticipationThe certificate is aimed at everyone who teaches at any STARS EU partner institution, e.g.:— Professors— Lecturers— Academic/technical staffTeaching assistantsIt does not matter whether you are just starting to teach or have been doing it for a long time. EffortTo obtain the certificate, you participate in workshops, projects, or other higher education didactic events amounting to at least 34 work units (WU). All our offerings that can be credited towards the certificate are marked accordingly. The time commitment (excluding breaks), including all preparation and follow-up times for you as a participant, is represented in work units (WU). One WU corresponds to 45 minutes. Our program may include both short (from 1 WU) and longer (8 WU) events, which you can choose according to your personal time budget. The estimated duration is indicated for all our events. RegistrationA separate registration for the certificate is not required. You register for the offered workshops, projects, or other higher education didactic events and collect the corresponding certificates of participation. Once you have gathered all the required WUs, contact us at [xy@starseu.org](mailto:xy@starseu.org) and we will issue the certificate. Of course, it is also possible to participate in workshops and projects without obtaining a certificate. You can also decide to pursue the certificate later, even if you have already attended several workshops. ProcessThe certificate consists of 3 levels:Level 1: Basics (at least 10 WU)Level 2: Methods and Practice (at least 12 WU)Level 3: Reflection (at least 12 WU) You do not have to complete the levels sequentially, i.e., you can attend workshops from Level 2 before you have collected all the WU for Level 1, etc. However, we recommend following the suggested order as much as possible. Some workshops can be credited for different levels, i.e., you can decide whether to credit the workshop for Level 2 or Level 3 of the certificate. However, the same workshops/contents cannot be credited multiple times. This ensures maximum flexibility in selecting according to your personal needs and interests. You can plan your participation in the workshops according to your individual capacities. Ideally, you should attend all the required workshops within two to three years.
